NEXT MEETING:   In observance of Memorial Day, there will be no meeting on Monday, May 26, 2008.    No sign up sheets will be posted, as all members will receive a free pass for their attendance.  Our next meeting, June 2, 2008, will be our regularly scheduled board meeting.

PAST MEETING:  Mayor Gregory Kurtz spoke to the club this evening.  He informed the club about the number of internal changes that have occurred within the city administration.  He stated that the city has had to become more sophisticated in handling a variety of issues including personnel, economic development, and public service.  Mayor Kurtz stated that with a 20% vacancy rate on Rockside, the city had to use new tools to entice not only larger employers, but also smaller ones.  There are many initiatives in the works, like the No Place like Home Program, senior housing and the redevelopment of the downtown area.  Mayor Kurtz also stated that when Wisnieski Parkway is reopened, everyone will be able view the new fountain as they enter the park.

GUESTS:  A warm welcome was given by all for all of our guests:  Judy Scouloukas, Leo and Mary Ann Glaser, Councilman Anthony Toglianti and Kevin Cieplowski, Lt. Governor of Circle K.

SINGING:  Hornack led us in singing “Happy Birthday.” to Wheaton, Senick, Rusnaczyk, Kapusta, and Klepacz.  We also harmonized to “Heart of My Heart”.  Thanks Joe!

MEMORIAL DAY THOUGHT
“All gave some and some gave all
And some stood through for the red, white and blue
And some had to fall
And if you ever think of me
Think of all your liberties and recall
Some gave all”
