NEXT MEETING:  Monday, 24th No information on the program for this night come and be surprised

PAST WEEK:  Scott Sutton from “The Wine Shoppe” in the Ace Hardware Plaza spoke on various aspects of the wine industry.  Scott has over 24 years in the wine business.  He addressed how the industry is managed by the State of Ohio, how France controls their supplies to the health benefits and how soil and climate conditions determine the quality of the wine.  It was a very interesting program.  Scott holds an informal tasting at his shop on Friday’s from 4-9 pm.  For $5.00 you get the opportunity to taste several featured wines that you may not normally try.  Stop in and say hi to Scott.

HAPPY DOLLARS:  Kapusta and Chrzanowski dropped in a dollar for spring.  Senick had high hopes for the Easter Egg Hunt.  Penitz tossed in a dollar and requested “no snow” for Saturday.  Hornack was turning in his dollar for baseball fever.

SINGING:  In honor of St. Patrick’s Day we sang “Four Leaf Clover” and “My Wild Irish Rose” in which Wright stood next to Hornack.  “Hey Fred we didn’t hear you!”

INTERNATIONAL RELATION:  Rejna reported that he has had much feedback from the great article in the Independence City Newsletter.  Many people never knew Kiwanis did things like his trip to Honduras.

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER:  The day will be held on May 1, 2008 in cooperation with the Rockside Road Church.  More to come on this later.

SAD NEWS:  Hornack mentioned that Stanley Wysocki had recently passed away.  He was a charter member for 25 years before leaving in 1977.

    Blessed Easter, Happy Spring!

EASTER EGG HUNT:  Saturday, March 22nd at 10:00 am is the beginning of the “Hunt” (weather permitting that is).  Mycoskie is asking that members be on the grounds by 9 am to help with set up.  We will be serving coffee, orange juice and donuts.  The Easter Bunny will be on hand to greet the children.  This year Rebecca Kapusta will don the ears and tail.  Be sure to tell her we appreciate her contribution.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS:  It’s time to think of officers for 2008-2009.  A Nominating Committee has bee formed.  If you have suggestions for officers contact Chrzanowski.

SPRING BBQ:  It was decided that the normal 1200 chickens would e ordered hopefully with a few tweaks.

SPECIAL REQUEST:  Angie from the Independence Court is looking for 3-5 adult volunteers to help with clean up on Saturday April 26.  Three or four hours are needed to work with kids who need service hours.  Contact Senick if you can help
