NEXT MEETING:  Monday, February 18th this is our annual President’s Night; the one time a year that we give recognition to those men and women who have led our Club in becoming the great Club it is today.  This is a spouse’s night.  If you haven’t made your reservations be sure to contact Kapusta.  A Steel Drum band will entertain us.

PAST MEETING:  Independence Library Branch Manager, Val Kocin, spoke on the variety of programs that the Independence Library has to offer the community.  Independence is one of 28 branches and it has been named number one in customer service and collections.  Some of the more recent programs that you may not know of are the toy collection.  Yes, now you can check out toys for your youngsters.  All the toys are washed and sanitized upon their return to the library.  The “story times” are very popular with parents and the children.  There is a service entitled “Feel Better Bag”.  When you or your child is ill you can call the library, request books, DVDs, or VCR’s.  They will pack them up and have them ready for someone to pick up.  “Planning Your Wedding”, “Reconnecting with Reading”, “Keeping Seniors Healthy and Happy at Home” and “Getting Children Ready for School” are only a few of the initiatives the library is focusing on.

SINGING:  Mycokie led us in singing “Wait til the Sun Shines, Nellie” and “Happy Birthday” to Elaine Todt.

HAPPY DOLLARS:  Chrzanowski had the first dollar for it being one day closer to summer even though it was 4 degrees.  Todt had a dollar because he was happy to be leaving for Georgia.  Senick had a dollar for Agan whom we wish well and miss.  “Hurry back, Bob”.

INTER-CLUB:  Benes reported that this month’s Inter-Club was filled by the six members who attended the Ash Wednesday Service.

    Happy Valentines Day
