MEETING: We will meet at the London
Pickle Works. There will not be a
program, but the regular monthly Board Meeting will follow our regular meeting
PAST
WEEK: Bob Sikora, Manager
of Member Relations of the museum of Contemporary Art had to cancel. Kathy Kapusta
graciously stepped in to talk about Medicare Part “B”. The many plans that are available can be very
confusing. There are, however, places to
go for assistance – the Medicare Webb Site, you local Medicare office or
contact Kathleen at the Civic Center.
SPECIAL
PRESENTATION: President, Senick
presented the ladies and gentlemen of the Concordia Lutheran Church kitchen
with a check for $500. for all their hard work and great meals they serve us
each week!
THANK
YOU: Rudy and Ruth Stang
sent a nice Thank you note for the anniversary card that Kiwanis sent to
them. Rudy was 91 in Sept. and is still
active.
SUNSHINE: We have not seen Mel Kurtz for
several weeks. We understand that he is
not feeling up to par. The constant
weather changes can cause problems for many of us. Let’s keep him in our prayers!
HAPPY DOLLARS: Scouloukas
threw in a well-deserved buck.
He has not smoked in 31 days. Kreizenbeck had a dollar for his kids over the
holidays. Hornack
was proud that his group for the 5th year in a row supplied a
Christmas tree for the downtown area.
This year they did an upside down tree.
Spilker had two dollars – one
for the Brown Backers of Kansas City and one for all the travelers who returned
safely home after the holiday.
SINGING: Hornack
branched out into two relatively new tunes. They need practice! “California Here I Come” and “Dixie” now can
be added to our singing program!
COMMUNITY
SERVICE: Klepacz
had a few gift wishes left, which he passed out. All gifts need to be wrapped and brought to
the next meeting or dropped off at his home by December 11, 2007.
INTERCLUB: Benes
is planning an interclub with Brooklyn on Tuesday, Dec. 4th. They meet at noon at the Golden Corral on Brookpark Road.
KEY
CLUB: Kapusta
reported that the Key Club is collecting for “Coats for Kids”.
SANTA
DELIVERY: Check with Spilker to see how you can help with this
project. This is one of the few true
community projects that Kiwanis holds.
She needs help in many areas. On
Dec. 16th she needs drivers, runners elves etc. Gift drop off dates are Tues, December 4 from
5:30 – 8 pm at the old rec. building and Fri., December 7 same times, same
place.
CHRISTMAS
PARTY: Kapusta
passed around a sign-up sheet for the Christmas Party on December 10th. Please let him know if you are planning on
attending. If you are bringing children,
please indicate age, sex, and full name.
CASIDY THEATRE PRODUCTION: This year’s production is
the “Odd Couple”. Mark you calendars for
