NEXT MEETING:  Bob Sikora, Manager of Member Relations, Museum of Contemporary Art will be our speaker.

PAST WEEK:  Doug Huth, President of the Brecksville Kiwanis Club spoke about his club, their projects and events.  Their main fundraiser is the 61-year-old Horse Show, which is one of the very few left in this area.  Their service projects include Baskets of Hope in which they make about 1400 baskets for the underprivileged.  Doug spoke about making ramps for the elder.  The Club in conjunction with the local funeral homes has created a program in which a Kiwanis member will house sit during a family’s wake and funeral.  All in all it was a very enlightening program.

GUESTS:  Seventeen members of the Brecksville Club were in attendance.  Two spouses, Edna Wells and Donna Agan also joined us for the evening.  Donna brought with her a very special person, Bob Agan, and it sure was good to see him.

HAPPY DOLLARS:  Kapusta tossed in a buck for Scouloukas who has not been smoking and for his daughter, Rebecca, for making National Honor Society.  Chrzanowski honored our Brecksville guests with his dollar.  Peniitz gave for Agan.  Todt recognized both his 63rd Birthday and his 43rd Wedding Anniversary by parting with a dollar.  Benes had a sympathy dollar for the “poor” Steelers.  Klepacz had sympathy for Wright and his “war” wound so he tossed in a buck.  Brecksville threw in a dollar for the ladies in the kitchen.  It truly was a great Thanksgiving meal!

SINGING:  Todt being the innovated man he is knew what he was doing when he got married on this birthday.  He never has an excuse for forgetting his anniversary.  He was the recipient of “Happy Birthday” and “Singing in the Rain” for his Anniversary”.  What the last song has to do with a wedding anniversary I am sure!

COMMUNITY SERVICE:  Klepacz passed around our Christmas family needs.  Please wrap and label packages and drop off at his home or bring to the next meeting.

CHRISTMAS PARTY:  Kapusta passed around a sign-up sheet for the Christmas Party on December 10th.  Please let him know if you are planning on attending.  If you are bringing children, please indicate age, sex, and full name.

INTERCLUB:  Benes reported that five members went to Berea – Shadrach, Kukawka, Spilker, Scott and Benes.

BUILDER’S CLUB:  The Builder’s Club collected over $200 for UNICEF and made Christmas cards for the Jicha unit.  K-Kids made ornaments for Jicha in Afghanistan.  A Christmas tree, cards and ornaments will be sent out this week to Afghanistan.

MEMBERSHIP:  An exploratory meeting will be held next week after the regular meeting regarding recruitment.  If you have any ideas that you wish to share, please make plans to attend this meeting and bring you ideas.

HOBY:  Recipients for this year’s HOBY award are Josh Suvak and Sara
