NEXT MEETING:  Monday, October 22, 2007, is a spouse’s night.  Be sure to let Kapusta know if you are coming and are bringing a guest.  Ed Flash Ference will give us insight into the “Death of Radio”.  Should be an interesting program.

PAST WEEK:  John Joyce head of security for RTA has led an interesting life.  As head of security he is considered the “Chief of Police” with 90 officers working for him.  He even has a detective bureau.  Although his officers have the ability to investigate, and solve crimes committed on the RTA, his authority is limited.  His jurisdiction is around Cleveland Public Square, the Euclid corridor and the near downtown area.  Prior to taking the position with RTA he worked with the FBI for over 25 years.  John told us some interesting stories of arrests he made and the mobs he infiltrated in New York City.    He also compared the FBI of the 70’s to the FBI of the 2000’s – different due to modern technology.

SUNSHINE:  President Senick reported that she had spoken with Edna Wells and she was doing much better.  Apparently she developed an infection from an insect bite she received possiblely at the Fall Festival.  Glad she is getting better!

HAPPY DOLLARS:  Scouloukas tossed in a buck for Pittsburgh.  Lance contributed a dollar hoping that the last half of his life will be as good as the first he turned 60 on Oct 16th.  Simon was delighted he had the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren who live out of state.  Scott was going to celebrate Purdue’s victory over Ohio State, but it didn’t happen.  Spilker had a buck for the great grass cutting, leaf-raking day!  Ornas had a buck for “whatever”.  And Kukawka had a buck for “whatever” Ornas wanted.

SINGING:  Hornack led us in singing “Happy Birthday” to Lance and Costanzo.  Then he just couldn’t resist singing “Take me Out to the Ballgame”.  We also celebrated Chris and Ronnie Iulas’s anniversary with “Bicycle Built for Two”
