PAST WEEK:  With no scheduled program the meeting was a relaxed, give and take of comments and conversations.

HAPPY DOLLARS:  Several members had happy dollars for events in their lives.  Spilker had a buck for her 50th Class Reunion.  Scouloukas also had a 50th Reunion that was worth a buck to him.  Kapusta was happy that his daughter’s softball team came in first place and Scott was delighted that his daughter found a job, however, she’s moving back home.

AUTUMN FESTIVAL:  This year as in previous years we will be participating in the City of Independence’s Autumn Festival held on the 30th of September.  We will be selling sweet corn and fresh cut fries.  See Wells to be counted in on those who will help.

SPECIAL INVITATION:  Bill Sharp, former Independence Kiwanian and past Lt. Governor has invited the Independence Club to interclub with his Port Clinton Club on Wednesday September 26, 2007 at 11:45 pm.  There will also be a presentation of his Past Lt Governor’s banner to the President Designate, Mark Giaco.  Although Sharp transferred to the Port Clinton Club because of his change in residence, he still works our spring and Fall Chicken BBQ’s.  We would like to send a group of members to this interclub.  Sharp has also offered a tour of Historical Johnson Island!  Lunch will be provided.  See President Chrzanowski if you are able to participate we may be able to car pool.  Wouldn’t that be fun!

HAVE A SAFE & ENJOYABLE LABOR DAY WEEKEND

CHICKEN BBQ:  The Fall Chicken BBQ is coming up quickly – Sept 16th get those presale tickets going.  We can better determine the number of chickens to order if we have some idea of what number of presales we have.  Desserts will be needed.  Cakes, cupcakes cookies are all welcome.  See Chuck Schilla for tickets.  A work assignment sheet will be passed around at our next meeting.
