    NEXT MEETING:  August 13, 2007, there will be no program

     

    PAST WEEK:  President Chrzanowski read a request from Hornack for funds for the Upside of Downs Group. He thanked every one for their cooperation and great willingness to work together during Home Days to get a large task accomplished.  We received many compliments on the food and several inquiries about membership.  Great Job all!!!  No financial results in, as yet. 

     

    BOARD MEETING NOTES:

    1.       The Board accepted the resignation of Don Woods. He is moving to Medina.

    2.       Chuck Schilla reported that there is progress being made on the grills and should be ready by the Chicken BBQ

    3.       Board ok’d contributing $100 to the Kiwanis Foundation

    4.       The Board voted unanimously to participate in the City’s Autumn Fest, which is Sept 30th.  We will be making corn and French fries.  Wells is in charge.

     

    HOME DAYS:  Both Molnar and Weseloh thanked everyone for their help.  There were several glitches but these were overcome with cooperation and ingenuity.  The punch machine malfunctioned and needed repair.  The refrigeration trailer failed and reached a temperature of 78 degrees.  Chrzanowski sent out an emergency call and was delighted when he received a response from a Kiwanis member from Broadview Hgts., who temporarily got the trailer up and running.  It will now be taken in to have it completely gone over.  Money has not been tallied. 

    Ø      -hamburgers were gone about 9:00 pm on Saturday

    Ø      -French Fries about 8:00 pm on Saturday.  So this tells us we sold a lot of food

    Ø      -leftover sausage was donated to Cheryl Scott’s church. 

    Ø      -Big “Thank You’ to Jerry Skuhrovec who donated the ice cream for the ladies Pie Booth.

     

    YOUNG CHILDREN PRIORITY ONE:  Kukawka reported that Discount Drug donated 12 rolls of film.  The film will be used at the “Back to School’ Festival for the children of University Settlement House.  A pony has been rented and pictures will be taken with the kids on the pony.

    STEAK ROAST:  The Annual Steak Roast and Wine Tasting event will be held on August 20th at the Heidelberg Distribution Co. on Pleasant Valley Rd.  The cost is $15 per person.  Sign up with Edie Schilla. BRING YOUR OWN EATINGUTENSILES!

     

    GOLF OUTING:  Edie Schilla stated that although all the money has not been accounted for, the Golf Outing so far as cleared about $8400.  Great work and Kudos to all who helped with this venture! 

     

    AURORA OHIO DISTRICT CONVENTION:  Senick and Spilker are planning to attend the Ohio District Convention on Saturday, August 11th.  If you would like to join them contact either one of them.

     

    DIVISION COUNCIL MEETING:  Thursday, August 16, 2007 is the regular Division Council Meeting at the Busch Funeral Home on Ridge Rd just south of Pleasant Valley, attendance at these Division Meetings count toward your Kiwanis attendance requirements.  It is always interesting to see what other clubs are doing. So be there at 8:15 pm.

     coin colleting.

    Monday, Sept 24th – Installation Dinner – Civic Center

     

    Coming in September, Monday, Sept. 10th we will be back at Concordia Lutheran Church YEA!
