NEXT MEETING: Our next meeting will be held at the Kiwanis Pavilion in Elmwood Park on Monday, July 30th. same time, 6:30 pm.  This is a potluck, family night.  Bring the family – spouses, kids, and grandparents.  Be sure to sign up with Edie so she can determine the number of reservations.  The cost is $5. per person  Ribs is the entrée and members are asked to bring either a salad, side dish or dessert to share with other members (at least servings for eight).  Those of you, who have already signed up, PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR DISHES.  The kids (as well as the adults) will enjoy our guest presenter, Kim Rassi, who will bring several of her Alpacas.  So come along and have some fun that evening!

PAST WEEK:  There was no scheduled program.  After a short meeting, members had the opportunity to just sit and enjoy each other’s company.

SUNSHINE:  Agan is home and doing well for the surgery he went through.  Let’s continue to keep him in our prayers.  After all, the Fall Chicken BBQ is just around the corner and we need our expert “chicken packer” even if it is only to supervise!

YOUNG CHILDREN PRIORITY ONE:  Kukawka reported that University Settlement would be taking 25 children to see Lion King at a cost of $2500.  He will be sponsoring five and the Club will be sponsoring two.  It was noted that Kukawka, himself, has received a certificate from the County Commissioners congratulating him on his volunteering at University Settlement.  Good Job, Ed!

GOLF OUTING  Edie Schilla reported that the Golf Outing went very well.  She thanked all who helped – Kukawka, Lance, Diane Weseloh, Senick, and many others.  A special, huge Thank You went out to Kurtz and Bontempo who brought in over half of the 64 hole sponsors.  This is the real moneymaker!  Golfers totaled 144; Terry Boland won the golf clubs and a few other raffle prizes.  Next year is the 10th Anniversary of the outing and something special needs to be planned.  If you have any ideas be sure to let Edie know.  Kudos to Edie for all her hard work and effort in making this an extra special success!

HOMEDAYS:  ONE WEEK AWAY!  At our next meeting July 30th   Molnar needs:

                 All raffle tickets turned in

Sign up to work – shifts are shorter this year so be sure to sign for as often as you can.  At least 15 people are needed in the booth at any given time.

`    Pie money needs to be brought in.  See Diane Weseloh with $10. or bring in two pies.

MEDICATION ROUND UP:  George Jicha, President of the Brooklyn Kiwanis and Past Lt. Governor has informed us that the Holy Family Hospice Center accepts unused prescription medications.  If you have unused or out dated prescription for which you know longer have use, you can either send or deliver them to the Director of Nursing at Holy Family Hospice, 6707 State Rd, Parma, Ohio 44134 or contact Ornas, she will be happy to collect the medications and take them to Holy Family.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:  In the absence of Chrzanowski, Senick reported that she had been in at a meeting with the up coming 24th Division Lt. Governor, Larry Myers, and had received many compliments on our Golf Outing.  She also read a Thank You note from the Kapusta family for the fruit basket the Club sent on the death of John’s dad.  Another Thank you was read from Ray Luey who received a Kiwanis Scholarship.
