NEXT MEETING: Meetings in July will be held at the London Pickle Works unless otherwise noted.  July 2nd we will have a Board Meeting but no program at the Pickle Works on Fitzwater Rd in Brecksville.

PAST WEEK:  Our speaker, Shelby Morrison, Curator and Exhibition Coordinator for the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame gave a short account of the history of Rock and Roll and how it is actually a combination of several different genres of music, including the “Blues”, “Gospel”, “Country”, “Folk Music”, and “Rhythm and Blues”.  In 1951, Alan Freed a Cleveland DJ was the first D.J. in America to play Rock and Roll records.

Rebecca Kapusta and Brian Scott gave a brief talk on their HOBY experience.

SUNSHINE:  Kapusta related that Biondi is recovering from a recent illness and may enjoy a phone call or two.

GUESTS:  Kapusta introduced his guests – his daughter, Rebecca and Brian Scott and his wife Kathleen.  Hornack had two guests, Judy and Jeff Spada.  The Spadas won a flag in the flag contest and Klepacz convinced them to attend a meeting and since he couldn’t be in attendance Hornack did the honors.  Several of our lovely wives were in audience-Judy Scouloukas, Edna Wells, Janet Young, Doloras Hornack, Kathy Kapusta and Karen Kreizenbeck.

HAPPY DOLLARS:  Chrzanowski contributed one dollar for the turnout for the meeting and one for the school supply project.  Kapusta had several dollars too, one dollar for his guests and one for Rebecca and Brian who volunteered to be counselors this summer.  Kreizenbeck tossed in a buck for his son and new daughter-in-law.  Hornack welcomed our guests the Spadas with a dollar.  Shadrach remembered Biondi with his dollar.  Todt had a dollar for his grandson who saw his granddad’s name in the Historically Speaking book and told him he must be old because he was in the “history” book.  Jordan’s dollar recognized Edie Schilla and her efforts with the school supplies project.

SINGING:  Hornack had a great come back (maybe it was the presence of the ladies) in leading us in singing “Beer Barrel Polka” and “Bye, Bye, Blackbird”.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:  President Chrzanowski read a Thank You, for the donations of school supplies, he received via Email from George Jicha, Jr.  Chrzanowski reminded everyone of the Kiwanis Conference in Aurora August 9th – 12th.
