PAST WEEK:  Tom and Sue Wagner from the Care on the Square organization gave a presentation on this ministry group, which is currently providing food, clothing and emotional support for the homeless in downtown Cleveland.  Starting with just one couple that saw a need, this group has grown to about 20 core members, and 74 members who, with the help of donations from local stores and restaurants, provide lunch every Wednesday and Saturday.  The founders are members of the Cuyahoga Valley Christian Church on Wallings Rd., but now have volunteers from other churches. Two of their key volunteers are our own Willie and Edna Wells.  They welcome new volunteers and donations of clothing.

GUESTS:  Judy Skouloukas and Edna Wells joined us for dinner and the meeting

HAPPY DOLLARS   Too many dollars to mention for Kukawka’s upcoming surgery on Friday.  Chrzanowski tossed in a buck for Spring.  Hornack had a dollar for his grandson’s 4th birthday.  Kapusta had a sad dollar for Cheryl Crow’s campaign to limit toilet paper usage.  Rejna parted with a dollar for the weather and his birthday.  Kukawka gave a dollar because he was happy to be back at a meeting.  Scott was delighted that his wife bought a new car.

SINGING:  Wright, Rejna and Sheets were recognized for their birthdays and we also sand “April Showers”, and then it rained outside!

BUILDER’S CLUB: Edie Schilla reported that the kids are working on Teacher Appreciation Day in May.  Plans for an appreciation party for the students are in the works.

SPIRITUAL AIMS:  Wright encouraged the members to mark their calendars for May 21.  A Round-table session with the five local church ministers is scheduled to determine need, identify projects and get ideas how we can help them.

    WEEKLY THOUGHT
