    NEXT MEETING: Next week, February 12, 2007 Our speaker will be George Pelletier, Director of the N.E. Ohio Mentoring Scholarship Center.  He will speak on the value of mentoring our under privileged youth.

     

    PAST WEEK: 

    BOARD MEETING NOTES

     

    1.       The Board is looking into purchases stainless chicken racks for our BBQ’s. 

    2.       The Scholarship Committee will return next month with ideas for awarding the Kiwanis Scholarships

    3.       The Board approved unanimously to proceed with helping St. Michael’s Elementary School form a K-Kids Chapter.

     

    SUNSHINE:  Kukawka is having more knee problems.  He is home but is using a walker. 

     

    HAPPY DOLLARS:  Freinrich did the honors of passing around the “bucket” He also was the first to toss in a buck, since he won not one, but two, football pools.  There were several dollars for Ornas’s return (Thank you very much!!)  Iula had a buck for the great weather.  He went skiing.  Shadrach threw in a dollar because his sons were flying him to Florida on Tuesday.  (Lucky person)  Hornack contributed a sad dollar for the loss of Virgil Narduzzi, a fine gentleman.  Shallcross also had a ‘sad’ dollar.  His sons were NOT flying him to Florida.

     

    SINGING:  Hornak, missing song books, led us in singing a familiar tune “You are my Sunshine” and celebrated Chuck Schilla’s birthday with the Birthday Song.

     

    COMMUNITY SERVICES:  Klepacz had his usual comment “BRING IN YOUR STUFF”!

     

    KEY CLUB:  The Key Club is setting up bingo for senior citizens at various Sr. Citizen’s homes and is interested in helping with the K-Kids Club at St. Michael’s. 

     

     

    PAST PRESIDENTS NIGHT:  February 19th is the date this also a spouses night.  Edie Schilla is working hard on a presentation for this evening.  Be sure to sign-up with her.  Remember you can email her at schilla8304@wowway.com

     

    SPIRITUAL AIMS:  Ash Wednesday Prayer Breakfast, February 21st 7:00 am to 8:00am Ridge Rd United Church of Christ 6060 Ridge Rd.  Cost is $6.00 per person.  Meat or meatless breakfast is available.  Be sure to contact Wright.

     

    PRESIDENT’S REPORT:  Chrzanowski reported that he waiting to hear back from the Outback as to the particulars for our fundraiser.  The theme for Home Days this year is Fiesta.  Start thinking of ideas to adjust our menu to fit the theme.  Kukawka is looking for some one to pick up and drop off donuts to University Settlement House a few times each week.  Contact Chrzanowski if you can help with this.  President Chrzanowski announced that Senick has been appointed as adviser to the K-Kids Club at St. Michael’s.

     

    PANCAKE BREAKFAST  Mark you calendars.  Sunday, March 4th is our annual pancake breakfast.  Brearey and Kapusta  now need you to sell, sell those advance tickets.

     

    DIVISION COUNCIL:  Thursday, February 15th at Busch Funeral Chapel on Ridge Rd, south of Pleasant Valley.  Meeting begins at 8:15 pm and is usually done by 9:30 pm.
