MEETING: Oct 23rd,
PAST
WEEK: Dave Synderburn
spoke about the Independence Service Department what they do and how their
presence impacts the City. Presently,
there are 27 full time men, 8 part timers and 4 mechanics. The fleet consists of 160 vehicles. A full time sexton maintains the
cemetery. The cemetery is running out of
room, however, there is legislation to purchase another acre of land, which
will open up approximately 700 graves.
To date 194 residents have been serviced by the tree removal program
with another 420 on the list.
Emergencies always prevail, in other words if there is a dangerous situation
where a tree if fallen will cause damage to people or houses these are placed
at the top of the list. Synderburn showed a fascinating video on the flooding of
Brookside Rd on June 22. This is the day
that the Cuyahoga River crested at 23.9 feet.
Many houses in the lower Brookside area were flooded with 6 or 7 feet of
water in the basement.
SUNSHINE: Senick was actually able to
return to work part time last week.
However, while in the office she contracted the flu. She is now back at home on antibiotics. We send her our best wishes for a quick
recovery.

in the absence of Scouloukas. Chrzanowski threw in two dollars – one

put in a dollar for her guest Lisa and for Edie Schilla

while they vacationed. Todt was really happy – the Browns didn’t
lose this past week. Rejna
was delighted that Monday was a spouse’s night.
His wife’s birthday was this week and he brought her to Kiwanis for her
birthday dinner. Kreizenbeck
was happy his wife didn’t have to cook. Kukawka
put in a dollar for Pittsburgh because they won.

all Here”!

WEEKLY THOUGHT
I don’t know anything about luck. I’ve never banked on it. And I’m afraid of people who do. Luck to me is something else: hard work-and realizing
what is opportunity and what isn’t.
