PAST WEEK:  Lt Governor, Costanzo, installed Scott as a Past President and Klepacz as Community Services Chairman.  Neither of them was available last Monday when the other chairs were installed.

OUR SPEAKER, Kerry Adams from the Cleveland Restoration Society, introduced a Heritage Home Program that the Society is bringing to the residents living in older homes in the area.  .  They will provide advice on restoring, energy efficiency, maintaining and repairing an older home.  The Cleveland Restoration Society is a team of highly trained professionals who know what makes older houses tick.  They can help determine what improvements will increase your home’s value and help you preserve its historic character.  They know what materials to use and where to go for financial assistance.

SUNSHINE:  Senick is still recuperating from her fall.  She has started rehabilitation and hopes to be back next Monday.  Wright’s knee is improving.  He will need more tests to determine if further medical treatment is needed.

SINGING:  Our first attempt at song was “Baby Face” led by Hornack.  We did pretty good, however when it came to singing “Bill Baily” we flubbed big time.  One of these days we will be good!

HAPPY DOLLARS:  Sheets collected.  He also stated that he would be taking a leave of absence for 6 months for personal reasons.  This announcement generated many dollars from our group.  Kapusta had a buck for a great year!  Nicastro had fun at the Fall Festival so she tossed in a dollar.  Kreizenbeck gave for Notre Dame.  Ornas had a dollar for that “special” guy, Penitz for his assistance to the Historical Society during Fall Festival.

BUILDER’S CLUB:  Schilla reported that the students are collecting items to send overseas.  They need to be in by October 12th.  They can be brought to a meeting or dropped off at the Middle School.  Items such as baby wipes, pop tarts, (no chocolate), foot powder and other personal hygiene items are most wanted

CHICKEN BBQ:  Fall Chicken BBQ tickets need to be returned, like now!!! Get them to Chuck Schilla.

NOTES:  Hornack stated that Doc Bennett’s name has been placed on the Past Members plaque hanging in the church hallway.

BREAKFAST IS SERVED!  Saturday, Oct 7th the Kiwanis Club will be serving breakfast at the field house for the coaches’ conference.  From 6 – 11 am we will have juice, donuts, etc. available for the coaches attending the conference.  Any funds we collect we keep.  Edie Schilla passed around a sign-up sheet for help.  There is a need for a few people to help set up on Friday evening about 6:00 pm just for about 45 minutes.

SPOUSES’ NIGHT:  Vice President Schilla has scheduled a Spouses’ Night for October 16th.  Our speaker will be Dave Snyderburn, Service Director, who will speak on the recent flooding situation.  This evening there will also be a Board Meeting.

INDEPENDENCE FALL FESTIVAL:  Wells thanked everyone who participated in the Fall Festival.  He especially thanked Kukawka for getting the corn and Penitz for the set up.  It was a great day and the Club made about $661.
