PAST WEEK:  WELCOME BACK TO CONCORDIA!

We didn’t have a scheduled program, however, Mr. Art Fertig, Youth Director at the church told us about a fundraiser the youth of Concordia was holding.  They are selling entertainment books for $25.  Eight of these dollars go to the youth group’s various expenses and also to the youth’s mission programs.  You can see either Rev. Hendrix or Mrs. Fertig who is the church secretary or ask the ladies in the kitchen they will be happy to help.

    BOARD MEETING NOTES:

    1.       The Board held their regular monthly meeting.  This was President Scott’s last official meeting.  He thanked everyone for an interesting and productive year.

    2.       Chrzanowski reported that the Home Days Committee met with Mayor Ramos.  They expressed the groups concerns about the abundance of vendors, the lack of attendance and what direction Home Days is going.  Mayor Ramos said that he had not yet met with this Home Days people but will take under advisement our concerns.

    3.       Chrzanowski presented the board with the option of getting an outside agency to audit our books.  Kiwanis books are required to be audited once each year.  After a brief discussion, the board agreed to keep our traditional procedure of having several of our own members audit the treasurer’s books.

    4.       A request was made of the Board to provide funding for Costanzo for the Division Installation Banquet.  The Board voted to provide Costanzo with $1,000.

SUNSHINE:  Keep Senick in your thoughts and prayers.  She fell last week and broke her arm in three places (OUCH).  She is home and striving to get back into the main stream, but it looks like it will be awhile.

GUESTS:  The Parma Morning Club had four ladies including their inter/club chair Linda Laski for an interclub.

HAPPY DOLLARS:  Scouloukas had a buck for, of course, the Steelers.  Sheets tossed in a dollar for our guests, the Parma Morning Club. Spilker was delighted that she had a buck left after becoming the owner of a retirement home in Tennessee.  Kreizenbeck’s happiness was due to him being able to go fishing with his two sons.  Chrzanowski’s dollar went toward the start of a new season.  Lance had a buck for the University of Akron and the Ohio Buckeyes.  Freilino was delighted with his new grandson.  Benes recognized the ladies doing the cooking and being back at the Church.
