    NEXT WEEK:  Monday July 3, 2006, Due to the Fourth of July Holiday there will be no meeting.  Sign in at Concordia Church.  The list will be posted anytime after 8:00 am

     

    NEXT MEETING:  Our next meeting will be on Monday, July 10 at the Kiwanis Pavilion in the park.  It is a spouse’s night and a potluck.  Valley Catering will be providing the main dish, however, members are asked to bring either a dessert or a salad.  Let Senick know which.  Call her at 524.3345. 

    There will also be a short Board Meeting following the regular meeting.

     

    PAST WEEK:  Ryan Schumacher from the District Boy Scout office and Donna Borowski, a local Boy Scout leader provided us with the “new and updated” Boy Scout Troup programs.  The Greater Cleveland Boy Scout Council has been growing over the last year.  It is one of the few councils in the U.S. whose enrollments has increased.  There are approximately 23,000 scouts in 43 units with 4,500 adult volunteers.  Several new programs have been added.  Venturing Scouts is a coed program which is basically the new explorers, and Learning for Life” is an exploring program, which is similar to a mini internship. 

     

    GUESTS:  Claudia Duhan was the guest of Rick Duhan.

     

    PRESIDENT’S REPORT President Scott indicated that we have received thank you notes from Tory Bredt, Bradley Fritz and Scott Basco for the scholarships or academic awards that they received.

     

    HAPPY DOLLARS:  Although we normally don’t do happy dollars, Scott felt the urge to show his pleasure in celebrating the begining of the next quarter century with Cheryl.

     

    ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Chrzanowski announced that he was connecting with each of the committee chairs for next year.  If you are interested in chairing a committee for 2006-2007 please let him know.

    Also, he related that Kukawka has been asked and has accepted a seat on the University Settlement House Board of Trustees.  Weseloh and Scott have been appointed to the Board of the Independence Cultural Arts

    4TH OF JULY:  Wells has volunteered to run the French fry concession booth for the Kiwanis at the up coming 4th of July fireworks celebration which is actually on Monday July 3rd.  He will need about five members to help.  Set up will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday July 3rd in the park.  Serving will start about 7:00 pm until?  If you can help contact Wells at 524.8999

     

    GOLF OUTINGEdith Schilla urged everyone to sell the raffle tickets for the golf outing, which is on Friday, July 22, 2006 at the Asterhurst.  Opening for golfers is now very limited, if you want to golf contact Edith soon.

     

    AEROS GAME: Want to attend the Aeros Baseball Game, contact Senick at 524. 3345 before July 6th.  She needs to get the reservations for seats and food.  Remember if you would like to take the bus you will need to have a signed waiver.

     

    COMING EVENTS

     

    During the month of July we will be meeting at  Mavis Wrinkler on Rockside Rd.  Programs will be announced.

     

    Monday, July 3rd Holiday, sign in at Concordia

    Lutheran Church.

    Monday, July 10th – Spouse’s night at the Kiwanis

    Pavillion.  This is a potluck.

    Sunday, July 16th – Memorial Prayer Breakfast.

    Monday, July 17th  - Meet at Mavis Winkler’ our

           speaker will be Heather Triplett Manager of

           Volunteer Services from Cleveland Metroparks

    Thursday, July 20th – Division 24 council meeting

           at Busch Funeral Chapel.

    Friday July 22nd – Golf Outing – Asterhurst
