Rain or shine the Independence Kiwanis will be holding our 93rd Chicken BBQ on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at the Kiwanis Pavilion in Elmwood Park between the hours of 11:30 am and 3:00 pm. Come enjoy a chicken dinner with cole slaw, French fries, roll and butter and dessert. Ticket prices are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children. Easter Egg Hunt
Sunshine brought out over 300 children to hunt for eggs at our 42nd annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30, 2013. Each child went home with a bag of candy, while their parents went home with a bunch of photos. Our goal is to help preserve the tradition of the Easter Bunny in the eyes, thoughts and hearts of our children.

The Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast is a sure sign that spring is on its way and is a great way to ease those winter blues. Members and volunteers alike, served over 500 meals at this year's event. The Kiwanis Club would like to thank the community for their continued support. It is because of you, that we are able to continue our mission of service. We would like to extend our thanks to the numerous students and adults who volunteers to assist us with our fundraisers and service projects.
