Kiwanis 86th Chicken BBQ

The Independence Kiwanis will be holding our 86th Chicken BBQ on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the Kiwanis Pavilion in Elmwood Park between the hours of 11:30 am and 3:00 pm. Come enjoy a chicken dinner with cole slaw, corn-on-the-cob, French fries, roll and butter and dessert. Ticket prices at the door will be $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children. Semi-Annual Fall Kiwanis Community Garage Sale
- When: Saturday, October 2, 2010
- Time: 9 am – 2 pm
- Set-up: Friday, October 1, 2010 after 4 pm
- Where: Elmwood Recreation Center, Elmwood Park
- Cost: $10 per table – Make checks payable to “Kiwanis Club of Independence”
- Registration Deadline: September 29, 2010
This is a great way to clear out those closets and turn your goods into cash! Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Independence and the City of Independence with all proceeds going to the “Dorothy Ornas Scholarship Fund”.
An “Out of this World” Homedays!
That was one way to describe this year’s event. With great weather and wonderful crowds, Kiwanis sold hundreds of hamburgers, hotdogs and kielbasa sandwiches; while an untold amount of French fries were made to feed the crowds that attended the two day affair. Proceeds from this year’s event help to sponsor the numerous academic scholarships as well as numerous other projects that the Kiwanis Club of Independence sponsors.
There will be no meeting on 9/6.
Our next meeting will be on Monday, Sept. 13th at Concordia Lutheran Church.
